The pub's owners are Roger and Joanne Narbett. Roger is chef to the England football team and displays some of his football memorabilia on the bar wall.
Food at The Chequers
Chequers also has a dinning area which seats 70 people with modern décor in traditional surroundings, typified by sandblasted pale beams, tiled and wooden floors, comfy sofas and snug little booths.
The menus boast great choice from traditional favourites to new and exciting dishes. There are Sandwiches and a Light Bites Menu available at Lunch time if speed is of the essence.
The Bar Area
The thirsty gather round the church panel bar with foaming pints of traditional hand pulled beers, and inviting roaring log fire.There’s an adjacent, most welcoming Garden Room: lilac soft furnishings and a plush sofa, surrounded by hanging tankards. Richly coloured walls with wine-themed paintings invoke a modern country style.

The Chequers has a covered Patio for eating alfresco with heating and a garden area that is particular popular during the summer.
