LTA Player Ratings
A player rating is a way of measuring your tennis ability so you can see how you are improving. Your rating should also guide you to enter the right level of competitions. You need a ratings in order to compete.
Are you new to competition?
To get a rating you need to be a British Tennis Member: Learn more about British Tennis Membership
If you signed up for BT membership but did not apply for a rating at the time, you can request one by emailing info@LTA.org.uk with your name and BT number. If you are an experienced player, with a competitive record, and think you should be assigned a higher rating than the entry level (9.2 adults and 10.2 juniors) first read AEGON British Tennis Ratings FAQs and then email info@LTA.org.uk with relevant information.
There are 20 rating bands. A rating of 1.1 is the highest level and 10.2 is the lowest.
The ratings scale goes (from the lowest): 10.2, 10.1, 9.2, 9.1, 8.2, 8.1 and so on until 1.2 and finally 1.1. A junior start rating is 10.2 and an adult start rating is 9.2.
